Problem Statement
- Malaysia progressed from a low-income economy since 1957 but ran the risk of being stuck in the middle-income trap if no drastic steps are taken. PEMANDU was tasked to deliver the National Transformation Programme (NTP), focusing on various social & economic areas.
- The NTP focused on (1) increasing FDI to USD444 bil, (2) increasing GNI per capita to USD15,000 and (3) introduced an additional of 3.3mil jobs.
