Problem Statement
Rwanda houses one of Africa’s fastest developing economies, growing at an average of 10.8% since 2016, but its economy was negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, recording 3.4% GDP contraction While Rwanda is still focused on its long-term aspirations to achieve Upper Middle Income by 2035 and High Income by 2050, based on its current trajectory, Rwanda is projected to only become a High-Income Nation in 2077, 27 years after its 2050 target.
In 2022, the Government of Rwanda engaged PEMANDU Associates in developing the Rwanda Private Sector-Led Transformation Programme, in an effort to craft strategies in assisting Rwanda realise it’s aspiration of achieving Upper Middle-Income and High-Income status by 2035 and 2050 respectively.
